The Adabraka District Court has remanded social media women’s advocate, Christford Affadu Danful, popularly known as Ekow Black, into police custody as investigations widen beyond a viral assault incident to include fresh allegations of sextortion.

The suspect was arraigned on Friday, January 16, 2026, and remanded by the court, presided over by Her Worship Nana Abena Asoh Owusu Omenyo, pending the completion of police investigations.

He is expected to reappear in court on Tuesday, January 21, 2026.

Prosecutors informed the court that investigations into an earlier assault incident — which circulated widely on social media and attracted public outrage — were still ongoing.

In addition, the prosecution disclosed that new complaints had emerged, alleging that the suspect threatened to circulate intimate images of victims. Investigators say the conduct aligns with offences associated with sextortion, prompting an expansion of the scope of the inquiry.

The court granted the remand request to allow investigators sufficient time to conclude investigations into both the viral assault case and the newly surfaced allegations.

The matter remains under active police investigation.
