Police searching for clues after woman fatally shot after Puerto Rican festival

At least three other people were wounded in the incident, police said.

Police in Rochester, New York, are looking for suspects after a woman was killed and two others were injured in a shooting after a Puerto Rican festival early Saturday morning.

Around 10:30 p.m. a large crowd had gathered and started to block North Clinton Avenue, Rochester Police Chief David Smith told reporters.

As the crowd dispersed, gunshots rang out around 12:25 a.m., police said. By the time officers arrived at the scene, an unidentified female victim had succumbed to her injuries, Smith said.

Three other people were wounded: a man in his 20s, a woman in her 30s and another man in his 40s, according to Smith. Their injuries are not life-threatening, according to the chief.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

The city's Puerto Rican festival lasts all weekend and an estimated 25,000 people attend annually. The event includes concerts, art showcases and educational activities, according to organizers.
