Dexter: Resurrection is adding to its killer cast for season two.
The latest actor to join the Paramount+ series is Gabriel Luna (The Last of Us). He’ll be playing a character named Ray Ballard, a serial killer with the moniker “The Sleepy-Eyed Stranger.”
Luna joins fellow new additions Brian Cox and Dan Stevens on the serial killer side of Resurrection’s season two story. Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson have also been cast in the series along with returnees Michael C. Hall, Jack Alcott, Uma Thurman and Krysten Ritter.
Season one of Dexter: Resurrection ended with Dexter (Hall) discovering a file on a killer known as the New York Ripper in the vault of Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage), a serial killer enthusiast and the season’s primary adversary. Cox will play the Ripper — real name Dom Frant — who no longer kills but still taunts survivors of his past crimes. Thurman’s Charley, Prater’s former assistant who left New York at the end of the season, will also make her way back into the story.
Luna recently wrapped filming on season two of The Terminal List at Prime Video. He’s set to reprise his role as Tommy Miller in season three of HBO’s The Last of Us; other recent credits include Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy at Peacock and the feature film The Astronaut. Luna is repped by UTA, Entertainment 360 and Ziffren Brittenham.
Showrunner Clyde Phillips executive produces Dexter: Resurrection with Hall, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean and Katrina Mathewson.
